Cold Where My Love Used to Be

Summer skyline turning purple in the haze –
Wonder why my blues are just like yesterday's.
City is warm,
But it's cold where my love used to be.

Dinner table never seemed so big before –
Won't be able to touch knees there anymore.
Coffee cup's warm,
But it's cold where my love used to be.

Will I stay in?
Will I go out tonight?
Make some calls and see who's free –
Why can't I be alone with me?

Bedroom curtains turning gold against the sun –
Now I'm certain what was in my arms is gone.
Pillow is warm,
But it's cold where my love used to be.

Will I keep running
Away from my blues?
See a movie, watch T.V.
Why can't I have a laugh on me?

Open window looking down on ev'ry day –
Have I been so closed that all I see is grey?
My heart is warm
But it's cold where my love used to be.
